About the church:
The church was originally built and owned by a wealthy family for their personal use when staying at their mansion nearby. In 1968 the property was sold to a builder who, some years later, gave the building to the community on the condition it was always to remain as a church. Once owned by the community the church went from strength to strength; it was thoroughly cleaned, repaired and decorated and the Finnish residents on the urbanisation made the pews.
The church is now under the care of this chaplaincy who maintain it for future generations. A lot of love, hard work and dedication has gone into the church and the atmosphere inside is lovely, warm and serene. Many of those worshipping in our church have commented on its serenity and warmth
About the people:
Our congregation numbers vary each week. We have a mix of people who live locally who attend regularly and those who have holiday homes and come to church when they visit. All denominations and nationalities are welcome. Everyone is greeted very warmly and we have a social gathering with refreshments after the service to which everyone is welcome.
Our services:
Recommencing from 14th January 2024, our regular services of Holy Eucharist will take place on the 2nd and 4th Sunday of each month at 11.30.
Other special services may be held throughout the year.
The church can also be used for blessings of marriage, renewal of vows services and funerals.
Please contact Father Richard Seabrook for more information on those.
